The Akallah loafer, is an ingenious work of Kenyan local art. It is a casual loafer to be worn with panache and style and for a more laid-back look. It has a moccasin-like upper, which is a mix that consists of both lush vegan synthetic leather and bright colored breathtaking fabric straddling the upper (the saddle). Its lower base sole is from the indestructable Akallah, tyre tread. This material has been in use for scores of decades by tribes in Kenya that are famous for long distanct trekking. From the wiry, long distance walkers, the Kamba to the famous, fierce warriors and pasture seeking Masaii tribe. The Akallah loafer has a double sole; with the Akallah is its base tread, and the 2nd layer is a soft pliable sole. It incorporates the timeless quality of tradition, with motorized ingenuity into a shoe that will outlast seasons. Heritage meets design art.
